Kauai

Kauai - Hawaii is a once in as lifetime trip for some but after visiting Kaua’i it's hard not to be drawn back.  An Island with two personalities.  On the south side of the island you can find the Hawaiian shirts and beautiful resorts with all the Mai Tais you can handle or go north and experience a true Hawaiian island memory that only the Garden Island can give you.  Our suggestion is experience and stay on the north shore.  Hike the Na Pali Coast but just don’t show up, need to book a day to hike which we found out can be booked out for months ahead of time to limit the impact of people on the trail.  If it’s - booked out you can always check in with Auntie working the guard shack, if she takes a liking to you might be able to get in for a day.  Believe us it’s worth it!  We found a nice little river pool to spend some time and float and take in the freshness of the life all around you.  22.19883 N, 159.59425 W.  After hiking this there is one thing to do on the way back to town.  Stop into the Wainiha Country Market and see if they have a local sugarloaf pineapple.  Thank us later.  If you make it to the south side of the island  and if you need a reason we have it.  Change your breakfast standards and eat all the fresh breads, pastries, carbs, and gluten at MidnightBear Breads.  Around the island there is much more to explore, see, and feel.  The love of the island is experienced in so many ways from the people to the appreciation of the land and wildlife.  You will be refreshed, revived, and hopefully bring back a different mindset if and when you do return to the mainland.
